Shawn Brown Scholarship: $2,000 Awarded: Annually by the Young Agents Council (YAC) and MI Future  Criteria: Be studying for a career in the independent agency system (does not have to be in an insurance-specific curriculum). Plan to pursue a career in the independent agency system after graduation (preference is given to those who plan to seek employment within the independent agency system). Must be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year with at least one full year of undergraduate school remaining. Among additional criteria used to evaluate scholarship submissions are grade point average, course work, career goals, extracurricular activities, references, sponsoring agencies and cover letter.
